ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Soohee, Fifth Mehla:
ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨਗਰੁ ਜਹਾ ਸੰਤ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
baiku(n)tt nagar jahaa sa(n)t vaasaa ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹੀ ਹੈ (ਅਸਲ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਰ
The city of heaven is where the Saints dwell.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
prabh charan kamal ridh maeh nivaasaa ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
They enshrine the Lotus Feet of God within their hearts. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਤੁਝੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਦਿਖਲਾਵਉ ॥
sun man tan tujh sukh dhikhalaavau ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ, (ਆ,) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿਆਂ
Listen, O my mind and body, and let me show you the way to find peace,
ਹਰਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤੁਝੁ ਭੋਗ ਭੁੰਚਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har anik bi(n)jan tujh bhog bhu(n)chaavau ||1|| rahaau ||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੈ, (ਆ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਭੋਜ ਖਵਾਵਾਂ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
so that you may eat and enjoy the various delicacies of the Lord||1||Pause||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੁੰਚੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
a(n)mirat naam bhu(n)ch man maahee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (-ਭੋਜਨ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖਾਇਆ ਕਰ
Taste the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within your mind.
ਅਚਰਜ ਸਾਦ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਰਨੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
acharaj saadh taa ke barane na jaahee ||2||
ਇਸ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਹਨ, ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ।੨।
Its taste is wondrous – it cannot be described. ||2||
ਲੋਭੁ ਮੂਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝਿ ਥਾਕੀ ॥
lobh mooaa tirasanaa bujh thaakee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ-ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਿਆ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਲੋਭ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
Your greed shall die, and your thirst shall be quenched.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਜਨ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੩॥
paarabraham kee saran jan taakee ||3||
ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
The humble beings seek the Sanctuary of the Supreme Lord God. ||3||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
janam janam ke bhai moh nivaare ||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
The Lord dispels the fears and attachments of countless incarnations.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੨੭॥
naanak dhaas prabh kirapaa dhaare ||4||21||27||
ਅਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੨੧।੨੭।
God has showered His Mercy and Grace upon slave Nanak. ||4||21||27||
