ਮਃ ੩ ॥
mahalaa teejaa ||
Third Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
har prabh sachaa sohilaa guramukh naam govi(n)dh ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ (ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
True is the Praise of the Lord God; the Gurmukh chants the Name of the Lord of the Universe.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ॥
anadhin naam salaahanaa har japiaa man aana(n)dh ||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Praising the Naam night and day, and meditating on the Lord, the mind becomes blissful.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ ॥
vaddabhaagee har paiaa pooran paramaana(n)dh ||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।
By great good fortune, I have found the Lord, the perfect embodiment of supreme bliss.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੨॥
jan naanak naam salaahiaa bahuR na man tan bha(n)g ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵਿੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦੀ ।੨।
Servant Nanak praises the Naam; his mind and body shall never again be shattered. ||2||
ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:
ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਆਵੈ ॥
koiee ni(n)dhak hovai satiguroo kaa fir saran gur aavai ||
(ਜੇ) ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ (ਪਰ) ਫਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਜਾਏ
If someone slanders the True Guru, and then comes seeking the Guru’s Protection,
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਰਲਾਵੈ ॥
pichhale guneh satigur bakhas le satasa(n)gat naal ralaavai ||
ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
the True Guru forgives him for his past sins, and unites him with the Saints’ Congregation.
ਜਿਉ ਮੀਹਿ ਵੁਠੈ ਗਲੀਆ ਨਾਲਿਆ ਟੋਭਿਆ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਮਿਲਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
jiau meeh vuttai galeeaa naaliaa Tobhiaa kaa jal jai pavai vich surasaree surasaree milat pavitr paavan hoi jaavai ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆਂ ਗਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲਿਆਂ ਟੋਭਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੰਗਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ) ਗੰਗਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਿਆਂ (ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
When the rain falls, the water in the streams, rivers and ponds flows into the Ganges; flowing into the Ganges, it is made sacred and pure.
ਏਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਤੜ ਆਵੈ ॥
eh vaddiaaiee satigur niravair vich jit miliaai tisanaa bhukh autarai har saa(n)t taR aavai ||
(ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਇਹ ਗੁਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦੀ ਠੰਢ ਤੁਰਤ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
Such is the glorious greatness of the True Guru, who has no vengeance; meeting with Him, thirst and hunger are quenched, and instantly, one attains celestial peace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਕਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੋ ਮੰਨੈ ਸੁ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧੩॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ ॥
naanak ih acharaj dhekhahu mere har sache saeh kaa j satiguroo no ma(n)nai su sabhanaa(n) bhaavai ||13||1|| sudh ||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੩।੧।ਸੁਧੁ।
O Nanak, behold this wonder of the Lord, my True King! Everyone is pleased with one who obeys and believes in the True Guru. ||13||1|| Sudh||
