ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Soohee, Fifth Mehla:
ਅਨਿਕ ਬੀਂਗ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥
anik bee(n)g dhaas ke parahariaa ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ
God covers the many shortcomings of His slaves.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
kar kirapaa prabh apanaa kariaa ||1||
ਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ।੧।
Granting His Mercy, God makes them His own. ||1||
ਤੁਮਹਿ ਛਡਾਇ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
tumeh chhaddai leeo jan apanaa ||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਜਗਤ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ-) ਜਾਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ) ਚੀੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ
You emancipate Your humble servant,
ਉਰਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਗੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aurajh pario jaal jag supanaa ||1|| rahaau ||
ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਆਪ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
and rescue him from the noose of the world, which is just a dream. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਬਤ ਦੋਖ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਰਾਲਾ ॥
parabat dhokh mahaa bikaraalaa ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਜੇਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਐਬ ਦੀਨਾਂ
Even huge mountains of sin and corruption
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੨॥
khin meh dhoor ke’ee dhiaalaa ||2||
ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ।੨।
are removed in an instant by the Merciful Lord. ||2||
ਸੋਗ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
sog rog bipat at bhaaree ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗ਼ਮ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਭਾਰੀਆਂ
Sorrow, disease and the most terrible calamities
ਦੂਰਿ ਭਈ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
dhoor bhiee jap naam muraaree ||3||
ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ।੩।
are removed by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
dhirasaT dhaar leeno laR lai ||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ
Bestowing His Glance of Grace, He attaches us to the hem of His robe.
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੨੮॥
har charan gahe naanak saranai ||4||22||28||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ।੪।੨੨।੨੮।
Grasping the Lord’s Feet, O Nanak, we enter His Sanctuary. ||4||22||28||
