ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soratt mahalaa panjavaa ||
Sorat’h, Fifth Mehla:
ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਪਾਹਿ ਨਿਬੇਰੋ ॥
a(n)tar kee gat tum hee jaanee tujh hee paeh nibero ||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੀ ਅੰਦਰਲੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਾਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ
Only You know the state of my innermost self; You alone can judge me.
ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਲਾਖ ਖਤੇ ਕਰਿ ਫੇਰੋ ॥੧॥
bakhas laih saahib prabh apane laakh khate kar fero ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ । ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ ।੧।
Please forgive me, O Lord God Master; I have committed thousands of sins and mistakes. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਨੇਰੋ ॥
prabh jee too mero ttaakur nero ||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
O my Dear Lord God Master, You are always near me.
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣ ਮੋਹਿ ਚੇਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har charan saran moh chero ||1|| rahaau ||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
O Lord, please bless Your disciple with the shelter of Your feet. ||1||Pause||
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਊਚੋ ਗੁਨੀ ਗਹੇਰੋ ॥
besumaar bea(n)t suaamee uoocho gunee gahero ||
ਹੇ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈਂ ।
Infinite and endless is my Lord and Master; He is lofty, virtuous and profoundly deep.
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਦਾਸਰੋ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਾ ਨਿਹੋਰੋ ॥੨॥੭॥੩੫॥
kaaT silak keeno apuno dhaasaro tau naanak kahaa nihoro ||2||7||35||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ।੨।੭।੩੫।
Cutting away the noose of death, the Lord has made Nanak His slave, and now, what does he owe to anyone else? ||2||7||35||
