ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਰਾਗੁ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਘਰੁ ੧੩ ॥
raag bilaaval mahalaa chauthhaa paRataal ghar pehilaa3 ||
Raag Bilaaval, Fourth Mehla, Partaal, Thirteenth House:
ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਈਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੋ ॥
bolahu bhieeaa raam naam patit paavano ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
O Siblings of Destiny, chant the Name of the Lord, the Purifier of sinners.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਾਰਨੋ ॥
har sa(n)t bhagat taarano ||
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord emancipates his Saints and devotees.
ਹਰਿ ਭਰਿਪੁਰੇ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
har bharipure rahiaa ||
ਜੋ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere;
ਜਲਿ ਥਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jal thale raam naam ||
ਜੋ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ,
the Name of the Lord is pervading the water and the land.
ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nit gaieeaai har dhookh bisaarano ||1|| rahaau ||
ਜੋ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
So sing continuously of the Lord, the Dispeller of pain. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
har keeaa hai safal janam hamaaraa ||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
The Lord has made my life fruitful and rewarding.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
har japiaa har dhookh bisaaranahaaraa ||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
I meditate on the Lord, the Dispeller of pain.
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
gur bheTiaa hai mukat dhaataa ||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦਿਵਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ,
I have met the Guru, the Giver of liberation.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
har keeiee hamaaree safal jaataa ||
(ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ।
The Lord has made my life’s journey fruitful and rewarding.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥੧॥
mil sa(n)gatee gun gaavano ||1||
(ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੧।
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ॥
man raam naam kar aasaa ||
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਡੋਰੀ ਰੱਖ,
O mortal, place your hopes in the Name of the Lord,
ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥
bhaau dhoojaa binas binaasaa ||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
and your love of duality shall simply vanish.
ਵਿਚਿ ਆਸਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ॥
vich aasaa hoi niraasee ||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who, in hope, remains unattached to hope,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸੀ ॥
so jan miliaa har paasee ||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
such a humble being meets with his Lord.
ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥
koiee raam naam gun gaavano ||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
And one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਗਿ ਲਾਵਨੋ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥੪॥੬॥੭॥੧੭॥
jan naanak tis pag laavano ||2||1||7||4||6||7||17||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੧।੭।੪।੬।੭।੧੭।
– servant Nanak falls at his feet. ||2||1||7||4||6||7||17||
